Miss World 2017 From India after 17 years

Manuoshi Chahalar of India won the Miss World Beauty Tournament in the year 2017. This win, 17 years later, Priyanka Chopra brought prestigious titles in the year 2000. Andrea Meja of Miss Mexico was the first runner from England and Stephanie Hill. The second runner was around 108 women from all over the world participating in the beauty pageant.

The 20-year-old from Haryana, who is a medical student, edged out top five contestants from England, France, Kenya and Mexico.

In the top five round, Chhillar was asked which profession according to her deserved the highest salary.
“I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life.
“All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary,” Chhillar said to a wide-applause.
Ms Chhillar is the sixth Indian woman to win the coveted title of Miss World. Reita Faria was the first Indian woman to claim the title back in 1966, followed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1994, Diana Haydon in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Ms Chopra in 2000.
According to Chhillar’s profile on the Miss World website, she aims to be a cardiac surgeon and wants to open a chain of non-profitable hospitals based in rural areas.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday congratulated Manushi Chhillar for winning the coveted “Miss World 2017” title.

On Saturday night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “Congratulations Manushi Chhillar andIndia is proud of your accomplishment.”

She is the sixth Indian to win the title and the first since Priyanka Chopra won the crown in 2000.
