Whatsapp Payment Started UPI Scan QR Code

As yet another digital payments option in India, WhatsApp in March  had launched its payments service in India in beta for select Android smartphones as well as iPhones. Later it added the "Send to UPI ID" feature to make it easier for users to directly send across payments to unique UPI IDs without going into conversation threads. However, the app lacked the QR code payments feature which is present in rival apps like Paytm. Now, the latest Android beta version of WhatsApp has introduced this feature.

To take advantage of the service, the user will need to go to settings by pressing the three-dot menu on the right and then tap on payment. Scroll forward and select new payment option. Two options will be available - one is a valid ID and the second scan QR code. UPI ID was introduced with notification button at the beginning of this month

While the user will be directed to the QR code scanning screen when selecting the QR code payment option. The user will be asked to include the amount after they follow the UPI pin for verification, which they want to transfer.

To use the QR code payment option on WhatsApp, a user needs to download the latest version 2.18.93 from the Google Play Store as mentioned earlier. For now, this feature is only available to beta users, however, a stable version of the app will begin soon.

This feature is currently available for nominated people for the Whatsapp beta test program. Regular users can join Whatsapp's Beta program to receive faster updates, however, it is not certain that the payment facility will be available to you to post it on. To sign up for the beta program, users can search for whatsapp in the search bar by visiting the Google Play store.

Tap on it, and scroll down to find an option to join the app as a beta tester, tap the Join button and wait for the application to switch from beta to beta version. This will allow the user to get the latest beta updates for their application.

In the first facility of payment through the UPI ID, YouTube allows users to pay only in the contact list. Currently this report allows users to make up to 20% of the payment or Rs 1 lakh per day. However, with the introduction of new features, it is now possible that the user will not directly go to the money on the chat ID and go to the attachment menu.
In India, WhatsApp is stated to help almost 80 percent of small businesses to help communicate with customers and grow their businesses as well
